The GOP healthcare vision

A millionaire cannot, for example, light the streets for himself while darkening them for other people.

:George Orwell.

One thing we know about George Orwell was that he has a brilliant mind – one far in advance of his own day.

He saw things back in the 40s that, even today, resonate. How many times do we see him quoted with “1984 was a warning, not an instruction manual!”.

That quote, the one at the very top: “A millionaire cannot, for example, light the streets for himself while darkening them for other people.” is how the GOP want for the American citizen who is either uninsured, under-insured. Add to that the very, so-called, insurance companies buy the GOP and some of the Democrat votes – because they, the insurance companies, make millions out the sick, the ill and the dying.

I like Obama, boy do I like him – but now is the time when that skinny kid came out swinging. The way that Obama won the general election, he can win the healthcare debate.

The vast majority of the American people want change – he now has to deliver – even if it means roughing up some of his own party.

Those millionaires will just have to leave the lights on so that others can see.
