This is why Britain falls behind the other nations of the world…

Steve Bell on global economic crisis and the response of Barack Obama and Gordon Brown | From the Guardian | The Guardian.

Basically put – it is because you have people in charge who rule the nation – and will not break out of the idiocy of the status quo.

There is so much opportunity right now that can change so much of the UK, led by the government, yet they will not take that opportunity by the scruff of the neck.

New, sustainable jobs, research into future fuels, there is so much, yet – as ever, Gordon Brown lets the side down.

He and his government would rather stick with the 37% (72% over all service sector) of financial services economy that there is now – manufacturing by the way is only 13%.

Britain needs to move back to a more manufacturing based economy – with some urgency!
