BDSM: The way to find yourself with a 3 year prison term

Sex is sex – unless you are the British government…

In one of the many new protests that are gaining ground in the UK is one that outlaws certain images in the UK. Images can be deemed as: Extreme.

Now, what is extreme?

If you were to ask, say, the British police, who will be the officers who come into you bedroom, watch you have sex, and then say – “Sir, that was extreme – you have the right to remain….etc” Now why would a government want to go into places where the most intimate things happen? OK, I know – we don’t all do the dirty in the bedroom, but for examples sake, let’s make it easy for politicians to read and, somewhat, understand.

Now, lets say that Mr and Mrs Smith like a bit of excitement every now and again, he likes his bum spanked and she links doing it – consenting adults no? That seems to be OK with the new legislation – BUT – if Mr and Mrs Smith look at it on the internet – well they can be sent down for 3 years, and that isn’t BDSM – that is just your couple who want to spice things up.

Now we all know that politicians don’t engage in anything like this; they just roll up the wife’s nightgown, move a bit for 30 seconds and then have a baby 9 months later. .

Personally I cannot wait for the first MP to be caught out with this law – the irony will be hilarious.

What we must look at is why this, another draconian law, is on the statute books in the UK. It is all a part of a criminals case where he said that he killed a young woman because he was addicted to violent porn. Now no one is taking away the right of the mother of this young woman to grieve, get angry and want some payback for the death of her daughter – that is perfectly natural. We all must send our condolences and pray that mentally ill people like her attacker are caught before anything else like this happens again.

But this law is not about that – it is about a blanket ban that will criminalise thousands of people. One way to fight such idiotic laws is get together with thousands of people in Hyde Park with a large projection screen and show those images – the police would have to arrest and charge all those people – basically fill prisons up with innocent people – how long would it be before this law was looked at again? But that would still mean that those who had been arrested, convicted and sent to jail would then be criminalised and could never travel outside the EU again – that is an imposition on those peoples human rights.

This Labour government needs to go and go quickly. The only real alternative will and is the LibDems – they want, on the statue books, a written constitution for the UK – not only that they want a parliament to consult with those who will be affected by such laws – something that wasn’t done in this case. In fact no one, not even the LibDems, put up much of an opposition to such a law – it passed in parliament without objection.

Section 63 of the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008 comes into force on 26 January and makes owning offending pictures a criminal offence punishable by up to three years’ imprisonment. An image is deemed to be extreme if it “is grossly offensive, disgusting or otherwise of an obscene character” and portrays in any way an act which threatens a person’s life, or which results or appears likely to result in serious injury to someone’s genitals or breasts.

Well I am sorry – but images of Maggie Thatcher are obscene to me! Will they be banned?

Who stipulates what is life threatening? As asked here:

“Ultimately it will be up to a magistrate and a jury to decide what constitutes extreme pornography but the wording is so impossibly vague it could constitute anything. Take the phrase ‘life-threatening’. There is, I understand, a genre of porn known as ‘smoking pornography’ which you could argue combines pornography with a potentially life threatening act.”

As an opponent of written constitutions and its ilk I find myself changing my mind.

This government and the official opposition are wanting Britain to become beige in nature, thought and content. They enact laws in a knee-jerk fashion and think nought of that laws consequences.

Please – someone, bring some sanity back to parliament!

This sounds like what a Republican American politician would do. And over here in the US, it’s about how “the US was founded on Christian principles”.

OK. Europe as well was founded on Judaism and Christianity, but generally speaking (correct me if I’m wrong), at least in Britain, it is secular, no?

What are the banning of these “extreme images” based on? Could it be that Right-wing Americans use Christianity as an excuse for their inane beliefs? Without the excuse of Christianity in Britain, it’s just phoney puritanism, right?

This is very interesting for me that even somewhat secular countries STILL attempt to instil “puritanism” on its people … in the name of [something] bogus.

“.. in the Name of something bogus” I meant to say. Sorry for the typo.

By all means, leave your 2 bobs worth
