Wingnuts oh wingnuts where for art thou?

These lot will do anything to get a leg up for 2012.

The Constitution says this, the Constitution says that – all from wingnuts who are getting ready to run a dumb woman for office come 2012.

It is quite amazing that they do – where were they when Bush was ripping up the US Constitution? They were quiet then – now not so much.

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Polls show that Americans overwhelmingly approve of Sen. Hillary Clinton as secretary of state, but will the founding fathers veto this popular addition to Barack Obama’s “team of rivals”?

Yes, according to one conservative interpretation of the Constitution.

Article 1, Section 6 of the Constitution says the following: “No Senator or Representative shall, during the time for which he was elected, be appointed to any civil office under the authority of the United States, which shall have been created, or the emoluments whereof shall have been increased during such time.”

Translation: A lawmaker cannot fill a position if the salary for that position has been raised during that lawmaker’s term in office.

Of course – the Conservative wingnuts are the ones to interpret the US Constitution – because they are always right, or extreme-right.

The trouble here – the vast majority of Americans agree with the Clinton pick, but what does that matter? Wingnuts knows bestest!

  1. Mik says:

It was too much to expect them to hang their heads in shame and remain quiet after the Bush Administration has brought the middle class to it’s knees and destroyed the American economy. Now they have to bark about a minor point…you’re right…where were they when Bush was destroying the constitution?

  2. Steve says:

Examples of how Bush ripped up the constitution? Does he come close to Abraham lincoln? Did you know that Abraham Lincoln sent the army to the statehouse in Annapolis to with force, prevent the vote that would have been for the secession of Maryland from the Union? I don’t what Bush has done doesn’t remotely come close to that, yet Lincoln is viewed by some as a hero, despite being responsible for the deaths of 100,000s of americans.

  3. Rob says:

They were doing the same thing the Dems would have done, stick with their party… its what either side does.

I like how you call the given translation as a “conservative” translation. Care to give us your translation and how it makes BO’s pick legit?

The constitution is a document that has made this country great, to disregard an article just because the conservatives brought it up is a blatant slap in the face.

I say this as a person willing to give my life for that paper. Not as a Conservative or a Democrat.

By all means, leave your 2 bobs worth
