Keeping the wheels in motion.
Over the last few days I have been taking particular interest in what the US media is getting ready for – and it seems to me that they are getting ready to say that, on day one, Obama has failed in his promise(s).
Now why would that be?
Each day a new promise is looked at and there is always the analysis that Obama cannot bring this promise into fruition. That is even occurring with the very inauguration.
Those of us who have followed Obama for so many years know that he and his camp have this amazing ability at raising cash. So why the question about lobbyists and corporate sponsorship?
(NEW YORK) CNN — After raising a staggering amount of money for the general election, President-elect Barack Obama must now rake in more cash for his transition and inauguration.
There is about $9.74 million of taxpayer funds available to pay for the transition, but experts say that’s not enough.
To make up the difference, past presidents have turned to private money and corporate cash.
Obama’s transition team, however, is taking pains to keep lobbyists out of his transition and forgo corporate cash.
If he is taking pains to keep them out of this should be commemorated, no?
But questions of “No bias, No Bull” are arising on our favourite cable channel, CNN.
Even Ted Turner has some criticism for dear Lou Dobbs – “You look too angry” Turner said to the master of the Independent world while Turner was being interviewed on Lou Dobbs tonight – I watched that one because Lou was interviewing Ted Turner, the man who brought CNN to the world.
Turner was referring to Lou’s constant attacks on illegal immigration.
I don’t know what the answer is – but I do think that the world of the media let President-Elect Obama actually get into office before they start the bombastic criticism of him. Give the guy a chance – they, the news media, know how hard it is for him as it is – just look at the state of the US at the moment – he and his administration has to mop all that up and make things right again.
There will be plenty of time later – that is a guarantee!
