There are statistics and there are statistics

Confused yet? You will be young Skywalker, you will be.

In a life that has lasted 40 plus years I have seen and heard a lot – much of is total bullshit, a lot actually informative. Many a thing just trivia. But this story at our good and searching for the perfect political story – CNN, really caught my eye.

It starts off with the catch – Joe Biden isn’t as intelligent as Fur coat and no knickers, Ms Palin.

Yeah, seriously – with a simple Google search you can see that Palin is as thick as pig shit and Joe Biden isn’t – but the CNN headline says otherwise so you read on – I did, and then the truth begins to flow out of the story.

It’s all to do with sentence and word analysis.

An analysis carried out by a language monitoring service said Friday that Gov. Sarah Palin spoke at a more than ninth-grade level and Sen. Joseph Biden spoke at a nearly eighth-grade level in Thursday night’s debate between the vice presidential candidates.

The analysis noted that the “passive voice can be used to deflect responsibility; Biden used active voice when referring to [Vice President Dick] Cheney and [President] Bush; Palin countered with passive deflections.”

“It obscures the doer of the action,” said Language Monitor President Paul Payack, an independent with no political affiliation.

But higher grade level doesn’t necessarily mean better sentence, Payack said. He pointed to Palin’s second-to-last sentence in the debate, which the formula put at a grade level of 18.3:

“What I would do, also, if that were ever to happen, though, is to continue the good work he is so committed to of putting government back on the side of the people and get rid of the greed and corruption on Wall Street and in Washington,” Palin said.

“When she said it, it sounded good, but on paper it’s a completely different animal,” Payack said. “It’s like, what is that?”

Ah – so…um, huh?

Everyone who saw the debate knows that Joe Biden won – it is obvious. Those who support the poodle with Walmart lipstick says she won for simply turning up – high bar that one. She certainly could take charge if a 9/11 ever happened again!

This is the overall problem with Palin – not just that she isn’t ready to do the job – even she really knows that, it is because the American people, if they are honest, do not want a folksy down to Earth Mum who looks after the kids. Mums who do that are the ones who are saying this – they know how hard a job it is to be a mum, they, like so many others want a person who is going to get them back out of the crap they are in now. If they, the American voter, wanted a un-intellectual moron as president they would have voted for George Bush! Oh wait a sec!?

As they did vote for Bush they have seen how disastrous that was for the USA – why oh why would the American voter not only vote for Bush again – but a Bush split in two? That is what they are voting for if they vote for McCain/Palin – McCain because he wants to revisit Vietnam, but the US wins this time, and Palin because she has the ability to think on her feet while aiming at a tin can with an assault rifle. Put those two into a very large blender and you would get George Bush as the end product – the perfect reason why McCain picked Annie Oakley.

It has been said by better men than me – if you want four more years of George Bush – vote for McCain.

If you want the US back – vote for Obama – it really is as simple as that.

You are right Palin is not sophisticated enough to be vice-president, too simple and naïve about Washington Politics. I guess the only real choice we have left is Obama. After all, he has Jim Johnson, the former chairman of Fannie Mae, this will rescue the worlds economy from corruption. And Obama’s mentor for the last 17 years has been Jeremiah Wright, so this will bring peace and harmony to the United States. He is the most liberal senator in congress, but we should overlook this, because he hasn’t accomplished much in the senate and never had significant leadership over anything…so, no damage there. He is also is a great and sophisticated speaker, this comes in handy in case people need to be fooled.
It is truly amazing that you can convince the majority of the American people, and even more the Europeans, that you are The President the whole World is waiting for, by using words like change, unity and Yes we can. Just keep repeating these words millions of times and the hypnosis sets in. Scary stuff…

I truly believe that Obama stands not just for change, but for significant improvement, whereas McCain/Palin support just about every decision Bush has ever made. I think that anything’s got to better than Bush, but I do truly hope that we usher in an era of drastically better, rather than just the McCain/Palin ticket of “How much worse can we screw it up than it already is?”

Goodness! I have been reading your blog but not commenting much. But when I saw this I had to drop by.

Please don’t ever grade my blog. I’d die!:

I could pop in big words to get it up there, but that’s not quite the audience I’m gearing to. Then I’d have to look them up and all… 🙂

Anyway, who are they trying to kid? Let’s get some Bushisms up there to be graded. People voted for him (some really did) so it doesn’t seem like any of this will matter.
Take care, Will. I’ll be back more after I get my last video done.
