McCain giving up?

This gets curiouser and curiouser.

John McCain – or we really should say the John McCain camp have said that they are ceding certain ground in Michigan to concentrate on other states. Well – they may be the case though I wouldn’t believe them. Is this a tactic or a strategy?

Does the McCain camp really think that the American voter is as stupid as they are making out? You see – the American voter fell for this kind of garbage once too often – “Fool me once…”

McCain needs a sea change to get out of this mess – not only that he has to get on top of economic measures. Not his strong point.

Local Republican officials told CNN they were thrilled to have Palin on the ticket, saying her accent and love for guns made her someone independents and Democrats uncomfortable with Sen. Barack Obama could relate to.

That is how people in Michigan pick a president? Accent and love of guns? Please!?

As the campaign pulls resources from Michigan, it is ramping up its efforts in Maine, where Republican Sen. Susan Collins is beating national trends in her re-election bid, holding a healthy double-digit lead and running a strong organization in the state.

A second McCain aide said that their polling showed that “Michigan isn’t even a long shot” — but the campaign is hoping to capture at least one of Maine’s four electoral votes, which are designated by congressional district. This year, “every electoral vote will count,” the aide said.

Any of the McCain camp looked at the electoral map of late?

Meanwhile, McCain jokingly said Thursday that Obama’s poll numbers are rising as the economy seems to sink “because life isn’t fair.”

“He certainly did nothing for the first few days,” McCain told Fox News on Thursday. “I suspended my campaign, took our ads down, came back to Washington, met with the House folks and got on the phone, and also had face-to-face meetings.”

Blatant lies – McCain didn’t suspend his campaign didn’t take the ads down and when he went to Washington many believed he spoiled the negotiations.

Capt’ No earmarks or pork-barrel spending also voted for the current ‘bail-out’ bill. If you want to look it up go ahead and look it up – see how many earmarks are in that bill.

Obama voted for it, too – but Obama isn’t running on this as an election promise – McCain did so you can only judge McCain on that one.

McCain lies!

  1. Matt says:

Yeah, but a huge chunk of Obama’s platform claims no tax increase for those under $250,000….so how are we paying for this $700B plan again?

  2. leapsecond says:

Agreed with Matt, though, it’s hardly conceivable that a McCain presidency would get by without increasing everyone’s taxes to pay for the “other wars” he’s planning on instigating.

  3. John McCain says:

I never give up, you British moron. As a POW and only war hero I’ve proven that already. You underestimate the dangers of war, son. Iran, the Taliban, Osama bin Laden – they’re all just around the corner. You’ll see – the moment a war starts I’ll be president. George W. owes me …

  4. Will Rhodes says:

John, John – re-fighting ViET – Naam, isn’t going to help anyone. Tut.

By all means, leave your 2 bobs worth
