Palin withdrawal?

Wanna bet?

I was questioned by my dear wife as to the prospect of McCain dropping Palin like a hot potato. I said it really isn’t likely.

But – by the looks of it I could be wrong.

Intrade, an online prediction market based in Dublin, created a contract Tuesday morning on the likelihood that John McCain will drop Palin as his running mate. After opening at a probability of just 3%, the odds on Palin being cut from the ticket climbed to 18% around 9 a.m. and have since settled at around 12%.

Intrade is a place for betting enthusiasts to turn a small profit on everything from the latest auction of works by controversial British artist Damien Hirst to Britney Spears’ chances of landing in rehab. Contracts on a possible future event are bought and sold by users of the site, like a stock on the NYSE.

It gets curiouser and curiouser.

It’s highly unlikely that McCain would drop her from the ticket, even though she is not qualified to be on it. Even though his poor choice in selecting her has damaged his ability at judgement, it would be worse for him to dump her. He needs her to stay on now for the continuity of the ticket. Bob Barr, former Republican of the 10th Congressional District in GA. over the weekend strongly insuated this weekend that by his picking her as running mate was a bad choice that could sink the Republicans chances of getting in the White House. It’s happened before. This from one of the biggest fascists going. His former district borders my current district.

You really are too kind. The GOP has made a habit of running certifiable cretins for office since Ronald Reagan ran for his second term. The man had alzheimers and yet the american electorate voted for him.

George Bush the first and George W. only hammer that nail down harder. If the Democratic party had any sense they’d run somebody in a catatonic state and we’d win in a landslide.

Stupidity is truly the only infinite force in the universe.

I was wondering if she was planning to drop out. Apparently she’s gone into seclusion right in the middle of their convention. What do you think about that?

By all means, leave your 2 bobs worth
