Fred Thompson: John McCain was a POW

Will there be more?

The answer to that simple question is – no.

John McCain was a POW – we KNOW that!

Is it me or does the backdrop of the RNC look like a Nuremberg rally?

Will based on Thompson’s speech it seems to me that they are looking for the “PITY” vote for McCain.

It was all about McCain being a POW .

Vote for McCain, he was a POW. Wow!

That was my thought, Paulette. It sounded like a pity plea.

  4. PiedType says:

Oh, the backdrop. Nah, a Nuremberg rally would be black, wouldn’t? Or red. It’s ghastly, though. Most of the time it just sits there looking like a giant mistake, like the projectionist fell asleep at the switch or something.
Maybe they’re just being uberfrugal so they can send the excess to all those poor Gustav victims …

Mom and Dad told me to never join a cult.

  6. Juan C says:

It did indeed look a bit like a Nuremberg rally…however, the Hitler look-alike spoke at the other convention.

  7. Lottie says:

I can’t look at Fred Thompson or hear his voice without seeing/hearing Arthur Branch and feeling like I’m watching an episode of Law & Order.

  8. Mike says:

Wow, you Dems truly have black hearts! The point of John McCain’s POW story is that he is too humble to speak about it and few people (including you) understand what that experience was like for him or what it shows about his character.

Evidently, Barack Obama being raised without a daddy is compelling but John McCain being beaten and tortured for 5 1/2 years because he refused to give up intelligence that would get other Americans killed doesn’t rate!

Mike – as you are so much in the know – what intel would that be? He was a bomber pilot!

Coming out with that statement I would presume you know about combat orders etc? No? OK!

  10. Mike, could you explain to us why ex-POWs who were imprisoned with McCain nicknamed him “Songbird”? Also, why aren’t they supporting his bid for the presidency? Also, if POW experience is so important a qualifier for the presidency, why did he lose to George W., who never even served in Vietnam?

  11. Lottie says:

    Will,

You know that’s not my Mike, right? Just sayin’… 😉

  12. Will Rhodes says:

LOL – yep, I know it, Lottie 😉

By all means, leave your 2 bobs worth
